THANK YOU for visiting my site! I am endlessly thankful to God for blessing me with the love I have for music and the opportunity to share my gifts. DRUM LESSONS: I currently reside as a Private Instructor at Coast Music Conservatory in Hermosa Beach, CA. For your convenience, it is possible for me to schedule house calls / home visits (time and location permitting) if you are equipped with adequate space and sound-control to prevent your neighbors from biting our heads off during the lesson process – haha! HOWEVER, if you happen to have those annoying neighbors that keep you up at night, doing gracious knows what, or just get on your nerves, then you may want to consider the Punk or Metal direction for your lessons with the windows wide open after work… nah!… never mind that idea. That usually doesn’t work in our favor anyway. Murphy’s Law. Please note for house calls that PROPER SUPERVISION during lessons with underage students is MANDATORY! I apologize that I cannot compromise on this. There is always a good staff on hand at Coast Music, and it is quite fine for parents and guardians to stick around for the duration of the lesson(s). Just send me an email and we can discuss which direction you’d like to go with your skills. Jazz/Swing (Straight-Ahead, Big Band), Rock, Metal/Double-Bass, Punk, Trip-Hop, Breaks, Jungle, Dubstep, Hip Hop, Funk/R&B, World Rhythms (on the drumkit, Djembe, or Cajon), Hand Technique (Rudiments), as well as strengthening your music chart Reading Skills are several areas I offer. If you don’t see your direction here, just ask! If there is something that I am not feeling, I WILL TELL YOU. No problem. Email me for personal rates and other information. The GIGVAULT has been launched! This is an online music community for networking, cd reviews, and possible gig opportunities. More news to come from thia new site. But check it often, as content and information are added frequently.

The third cd release from JIVA, “Day Into Night” is now available. All tracks were written and produced by Khari Simmons (India.Arie), recorded and mixed by Alex Lowe, and co-produced by Forrest Robinson who also contributed rhythm arrangements for the record. The Park Elevator label will be releasing a compilation of music focused on some of the best unsigned bands and artists around. Our hope and mission is to honor real, honest, RAW music from artists we truly feel deserved to be heard by the world. This compilation will also feature music from artist, guitarist and songwriter Jermaine Rand, who is also my songwriting partner, as well as my own music.

I appear on Utada Hikaru’s live dvd UTADA UNITED, available from Toshiba-EMI, her cd, ULTRA BLUE, as well as the Music In High Places dvd: India.Arie: “Live In Brazil”. Please check the Music and Video Pages for various media postings.
